Handling Small Business Stress
Dec 01, 2020
As a small business owner, you can take care of your business by taking care of yourself first. Make sure you don't become too overwhelmed. Find ways to manage your stress during this difficult time.
Prioritize Your Goals. You have so much going on & so many tasks to complete. Make sure to prioritize your goals. Write down everything that you need to complete. Then, rank your tasks from most to least important. The things you need to do first should be at the top of your list.
Limit News Consumption. Although it may seem necessary to keep up to date on the latest news, sometimes it may cause you more stress. Take a break from it all once in a while. Refreshing your feeds constantly isn't going to prove productive. Try to limit your news consumption and spend more of your day focused on other things that are important for you and your business.
Stick to a Routine. If you're one of the many small businesses that have been forced to work from home, try to keep to a routine. Treat your day as if you're going to the office or shop. Get up, take a shower, have a healthy breakfast. Set time to do certain tasks to lessen the strain. Sticking to a routine can help keep you more organized and focused.
Take a Break. It may be hard to set time aside to stop working but you need and deserve a break! Don't become inundated by your work. Take a few minute break in between tasks to breath, have a snack or simply rest your mind. You will take on the next task with more clarity when you give yourself some time away.
