Oct 29, 2021
Maspeth Federal Savings received an award for the renovation of its Ridgewood branch at the Queens Chamber of Commerce Building Recognition Awards on October 27th at the iconic TWA Hotel at JFK Airport. The evening celebrated the construction and design of building projects in Queens which have contributed to the architectural benefit of the borough. There’s been a building wave in Queens these past few years, said Carlo A. Scissura, president and CEO of the New York Building Congress, who gave the keynoter.
MFS’s Ridgewood Branch Renovation, a two-story, 13,003-square-foot project, won in the Rehabilitation Category for Commercial Properties. B + W Architecture D.P.D. and Setauket Contracting Corp., the project’s builder, and the Gilmore Group, interior designers, shared in the honor.
Completed in the Fall of 2019, the branch’s new, open floor plan features floor to ceiling windows and sleek, contemporary design as well as state-of-the-art technology including upgraded ATMs, a digital community wall, a digital bar with wireless charging stations, and high-definition LCD TVs. The light and airy plan encourages communication between banking staff and customers. The branch’s improved banking system and processes provide a superior customer experience, says David Daraio, senior VP and COO, who adds that these advancements will help meet more complex demands in retail banking.
