Employee Spotlight - Glenn Rudzewick
Oct 14, 2021
Our Fall Employee Spotlight focuses on Glenn Rudzewick, Senior Vice President and Chief Lending Officer. In an interview with Miriam from our Marketing Department, Glenn discusses his new position, and the reasons Maspeth Federal Savings stands out as a home-mortgage lender.
Miriam: Take us on a journey through your MFS career.
Glenn: I started working in the Loan Underwriting Department almost 10 years ago. I had a bit of a learning curve then as my previous experience had been working on Wall Street in investment banking and not in traditional banking. At MFS, I’ve had some great mentors along the way to show me the ropes, including Mike Palermo and my brother Tom, who was the Chief Lending Officer at the time.
Miriam: You were promoted this year to Chief Lending Officer. Congratulations! Tell us what your plans are for the lending department.
Glenn: Thanks! I am blessed to have a great staff so while there will be some changes, I don’t see anything dramatic. We plan to continue our current emphasis on relationship-based lending. We will continue to cultivate the types of relationships with our borrowers that create true and lasting partnerships built on trust.
Miriam: What is your favorite part about working for MFS?
Glenn: There are so many aspects of working at Maspeth that make it a great place to work. Most of all, from the Board of Directors on down, the bank cares about the community.
We really do try to live the mantra of treating people like family.
Miriam: What makes MFS stand out from other lenders and why should consumers choose us for their home loans?
Glenn: There are a couple of things that differentiate Maspeth from other lenders:
• There are no pre-payment penalties on any of our loans.
• Borrowers aren’t required to maintain deposit accounts or reserves with us.
• We don’t sell our loans.
• We service every loan that we put on the books. When you call Maspeth Federal you will get a Maspeth Federal employee. That’s the most important point of choosing us as your lender.
Miriam: How should someone reach out to us for more information about our lending products and services?
Glenn: There are so many ways to get in touch with us. You may call us directly at (718) 651-7888 – we will pick up. There’s no automated call-answering service here. Send us an email, schedule an appointment to meet with a lender or fill out an online application.
