3 LIFE BEYOND THE CLASSROOM... Are you preparing to enter your Senior year of College ? If so, now is the perfect time to start to prepare for life after graduation. To get you started, here are THREE tips for successful planning. 1 Preparing for your first REAL JOB and managing the 9-5. 2 3 Managing those dreaded STUDENT loans. Setting SMART financial goals because saving for the FUTURE starts NOW. Your first full-time job can be both exciting and intimidating. No matter what industry you're in, you should prepare for a faster paced environment, more independent work and more challenging assignments. Learning will also continue with many jobs offering training and development programs. While your schedule will be more consistent, balancing your professional and personal life will take some getting used to. But remember, it is important to continue to network and make time for extracurricular activities. Lastly, always remember to have a positive attitude and be professional - in and outside of the workplace. Shortly after graduation, your obligations to repay your student loans will begin. It is wise to speak with your lenders before graduation to discuss your repayment options. If you can afford to, you should consider making small principal payments - it might not seem like a lot, but small payments can help you pay your loan faster. As you prepare for your first job and steady income, always aim to allocate some money towards savings and don't spend more than you can afford. INTERN SERVICE DAY At MFS, our interns learn more than just technical skills. They are given meaningful experiences that help shape their futures. This summer, we let them skip their desks for a hands-on learning experience at St. John's Bread and Life. Together, they prepared and served over 500 meals to people in need. As they end their time with MFS, we wish them much success in the future. Volunteer work can help college students build professional experience and showcase job-related skills.
