In today’s world, people keep everything on their digital devices … confidential files, family photos, financial information. What would you do if you lost all of it within seconds?
March 31st is World Backup Day and we encourage you to use these tips to avoid losing your important data forever.
- Take advantage of the Cloud. Most Cloud storage services are free and offer additional space at a reasonable price. Using the Cloud will allow you to access your files from other computers or mobile devices in case your original device crashes.
- Save to an external hard drive. All you have to do is connect the hard drive to your computer and upload your files so it’s relatively simple to use. With certain software, you can even schedule automatic backups.
- Put your data on a USB flash drive. This is a very affordable option. This small device has a good amount of storage space and is easy to carry around with you.
- Use a NAS (network attached storage) is a server that can back up several computers at once and can also be set up for automatic backups. This can be a more expensive option but worth it if you have several devices or own a business.
