Here are a few simple tips to spring clean your online & mobile devices:
Software – Make sure that the software on all your devices is updated regularly to avoid potential viruses and malware from infecting your smartphone, tablet or PC.
Passwords – It’s always smart to create strong passwords that contain a combination of letters, numbers & symbols. You can further protect your account by enabling a 2-step verification, which adds an extra layer of security by signing in with both your password and a code that is sent to your phone.
Apps – To free up space on your mobile device, delete apps that you don’t use and update apps that you do.
E-mail – Save important emails, delete any unnecessary or junk emails and unsubscribe from emails you no longer want or need to make your inbox more manageable.
Computer Files – After you delete your files, be sure to empty your trash bin to free up space on your computer.
Old Electronic Devices – When throwing out old devices, make sure to permanently delete old files. It is strongly recommended that you use a program that wipes data from your device to protect your information.
