Q: Are my deposit accounts FDIC insured?
A: Yes! The basic insurance amount is $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank. Deposits maintained in different categories of legal ownership at the same bank can be seperately insured. Therefore, it is possible to have deposits of more than $250,000 at one insured bank and still be fully insured. Ask us for details.
Maspeth Federal Savings & Loan Association has chosen not to participate in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Customers of Maspeth Federal Savings & Loan Association with noninterest-bearing transaction accounts will continue to be insured through December 31, 2009 for up to $250,000 under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
